Education:
2136 - David entered into the United States Space Fleet Academy (what later became Starfleet Academy). In 2136 Starfleet had not yet been officially founded so student numbers were still low for this test-bed academy. David took courses on basic starship command, basic starship weaponry, advanced command tactics (which unfortunately where based heavily on Earth Naval Tactics), advanced starship weaponry design, and Zero-G combat training.

David graduated in 2140, just one year before the official founding of Earth's Starfleet. David graduated second in his class.


Career History:
David had always been known to be stubborn, slightly cocky, arrogant, and very self confident. He had always been one to do things his way... which got him in trouble early in his career, kicked off a few cargo ships and even held in the brig on numerous occasions.

After the academy David thought his knowledge would be widely appreciated on Earth's early cargo ships. Much to his surprise his first year was spent one four different cargo ships and a total of 5 months in jail.

2141 saw the founding of Starfleet and recruits where taken; David joined immediately. Thanks to his academy training he was advanced to the rank of Lt.jg. and assigned as Tactical Advisory through Starfleet to assist the United States Rocket and Spacecraft Corporation in construction of the historical Bison Class ship. David's contributions to the tactical armaments were invaluable.

Upon launch of the Bison Class rocket in 2145 David found himself controlling the very weapons he helped build. Not only did he learn how to pilot actual starships but he learned a huge amount in targeting and firing weapons.

2147 - Then Lt.Cmdr, David was accepted as Armory Officer aboard the Earth Ship Kitty hawk. This was David's first post as first officer. He learned a great deal about command while serving under Captain Richardson.

2150 - Commander David Bredesen thought he was the perfect person to command Earth's first warp five starship, so he threw his name in the hat as a possible candidate to the NX Class Enterprise.

2156 - Promoted to Captain and given command of the Earth Ship Lexington, NX-06 in late January, shortly after contact was lost with Earth's Sahara Colony. The Lexington was among the ships sent to investigate the report that the colony had been destroyed.

2157 - The Lexington had been involved in every major battle since the declaration of war with the Romulans. She is finally lost on August 4 at the Battle of Andor, most of her crew survived.

2158 - The Daedalus Class project was a success. Construction of the second Daedalus class ship was complete. Starfleet appoints Captain Bredesen to command her.

2160 - The UES Columbia made history under the command of Captain Bredesen, leading numerous triumphant Task Forces and assaults throughout the war. The UES Columbia however was lost during Earth's final push for Romulus during the Battle of Cheron. Over half of Columbia's crew perished.

2161 - Despite the lose of Earth's Flagship, Earth and the Coalition of Planets were victorious leading to the end of the Earth - Romulan war and the founding of the United Federation of Planets on October 1, 2161. Captain Jonathan Archer represented Earth at the founding ceremony but David Bredesen was a key member of Archer's diplomatic and military asset team.

2162 - The first United Federation of Planets starship finishes completion. The USS Columbia, Lancaster Class Cruiser is launched under the veteran war hero Captain Bredesen.
