Katylinn's parents met when her father, Danyehl Jaykob Chrikys was on Vacation in Australia. He there met Katylinn's mother, Selene Sica. When Danyehl had to return to the USA for his next posting - in Colorado Springs - Selene followed him, marrying him months after his return to the USA. One year later, Katy was born, but due to Danyehl always being away on assignment, they separated, Selene taking her young baby back to Australia.

Katy attended school in Stawell, Victoria until her mother fell ill during Katy's middle high school years. Her mother, knowing she would not survive the illness, sent Katy to her father, who was now a Brigadier General. She attended USAF Academy straight out of High School, following in her father's footsteps.

Personality Profile: She has a dry, sarcastic sense of humour and a quick wit - reminiscent of her days in Australia. Her accent is a mix and match of Australian, Irish and American; picking up words and phrases as she likes their sounds. She is quirky and a little eccentric, but revels in it. She is somewhat insubordinate to Brass that ride desks, and has a few insubordination recriminations.

Was quite green when she was selected for flying in Bosnia and Kosovo. Did not get a lot of air time, but enough to cement her place as a creative, skilled flyer.

Was deployed for Afghanistan and Iraq, flying Nighthawks, Falcons and Eagles. She was shot down in Iraq when poor intel had led the squadron into hot territory. She ejected and captured whilst trying to make it back to an allied area. She was a POW for seven months, enduring torture and humiliation. She managed to escape her cell when the town she was captive in was bombed. She scarce made it back to base but as a whole intact. Her eyesight was damaged slightly in the crash and in the subsequent torture and as such can no longer fly. Her determination and skills on the ground had her re-trained. She ability to turn her hand to any task soon caught the attention of the SGC where she was selected.

She worked on an SG Team for a short period of time before being selected for the Helix mission.
